  • Are there a lot of extra fees?

    We know a lot of studios charge extra for competitions, require you to buy costumes you don’t want and make you buy their special class uniform. We don’t do that. There is a $40 registration fee to help cover administrative costs and a $50 fee per student for each shoe to help defray the cost of our handmade costumes and the venue.

  • How much will my dancer get to perform?

    Every student gets to dance in every show. Each small class gets a dance, so you student will not be lost in a sea of other kids. Also, EVERY student in Ballet IV and V gets to perform a solo or small group variation.

  • Will my dancer be able to participate in other activities?

    We believe in the importance of being well-rounded. Our students enjoy being in sports, plays and clubs, as well as dancing.

  • Is there a lot of competition between dancers?

    We know that dance has a bad reputation as being a toxic environment, but at River Valley Dance Co, the students truly appreciate and encourage on another. We do our best to encourage a positive environment and a sense of community. Because our classes are small, there’s a range of ability and experience in each class, so our students have learned to not compare themselves to their classmates. likewise, out teachers never compare student to each other.

  • We are small, but mighty. Our students get a well-rounded, high-quality dance education that has helped them get accepted to summer intensives, college programs and dance training programs all over the world.

  • My two daughters have been a part of three different dance studios over 11 years. River Valley Dance is by far the best, both in terms of level of instruction and personal attention, but also on the social level. No group or individual gets preferential treatment over others. The teachers are energetic and challenging, but remain caring, and most of all, they are willing to meet you at your level.
